Jim Sherraden from Hatch Show Print
Jim Sherraden, from Hatch Show Print, gave an interesting presentation to our class. I really like the idea of using old techniques to create new stunning posters. His presentation made me want to visit Hatch and take a look around.
Blizzcon!
Blizzcon was last weekend and I was visiting some sites about it, when I found Blizzard's imitation of old movie posters into new game posters. This apparent imitation of Scarface is simply phenomenal. This image has a definite pictorial feel along with a strong grid confining the type. The contrast between the black and white gives the image more of an impact. Contrast is also built with the headline because it is the only spot on the page with color.

Haiti Help Ad
I saw this ad while browsing the internet. It caught my attention because the creative use of texture on the type. The ad is made mostly of type but the graphic textures used make the viewer think of industrial breakdown. The use of black and white with the red plus sign give a significant impact on your emotions.
