WIRED Magazine
This magazine spread from WIRED magazine shows an effective use of simple iconic images with bold headline. I like this spread because of the limited color scheme the designer used. The only color shows up in the bottom where there isn't any information and at the top leading to the headline. I think the color at the top does a great job at leading the viewers eye straight to the headline.

Colorado State Patrol Billboard
I found this image on the internet. It attracted me because its clever use of the billboard materials to make it look like the image of the semi is crashed. I don't like the use of typography though. It looks like the designer used a lot of time creating the image and effect, but just placed a random font on the headline.

@ Gamer Magazine
I was at Best Buy and picked this magazine up. It is the gaming magazine Best Buy publishes. It impressed me from the creative typography used. The graphic on the right and the text on the left balance the magazine cover. I like how the designer played with the kerning of the letters to make them touch and act as one group of characters.
